Traditions!
Powder River Posse was created in 2005, but the tradition of Wyoming Football fanatics are as old as the program itself.
As years go by many stundents find themselves thinking of new ways to get energized and motivated for each and every game. So as you and your friends think of these "possible" new traditions let's always remember our past traditions and keep them going!
Powder River Cheer- One of Wyoming Head Football Coach Joe Glenn's trademarks is the phrase "Powder River, Let `er Buck!" He often quotes this battle cry when speaking in public and addressing his team. Thus, during the game fans begin the cheer where one side of the stands will yell "Powder River," with an echo from the other side chanting, "Let'r Buck." So the next time you hear the cheer, Don't forget to Join In!
The "Bronze Boot"- The annual Wyoming-Colorado State football game has evolved into one of the most bitterly contested rivalries in college football. The teams have waged the "Border War" ninety-seven times since the schools began playing. In fact, this is one of the oldest interstate rivalries west of the Mississippi

WCAC Tailgate- Members of the Powder River Posse get to join into the Wyoming Colligate Athletic Council's (WCAC) tailgate party held prior to every home football game. Members enjoy cheap food and drink as well as socialize just before the big event. The BBQ is held right by the student entrance as well, which makes waiting in line for all the great promotions that much easier. Students can also buy Posse memberships at the tailgate which allow them to enjoy the Athletics promotions!
Arriving Early - UW's students are known for their dedication to the Cowboys. Before each game many students come and wait hours and sometimes camp out the night before to watch their devoted team. The Students enjoy a section ,right on the 50 yard line and front row seats behind the team, all to themselves at War Memorial Statium and arriving early for Posse members is all that much better as gates open up to an hour early for those members, which gaurantees the best seats in the house for Posse members.
**NEW** "BOOM BOOM"- Our respected marching band, Western Thunder, plays the song "Boom Boom," as they play members of the band begin a back and forth motion that is oppisite from one another (So as one person dips forward the person next to them goes back, and so on). The idea behind Boom Boom is to get the WHOLE student section involved so that the "student section" and stadium become alive in a wave of dipping and diving motion! So the next time you hear the band begin their drum solo keep your eye out for them to begin the "BOOM BOOM" and get everyone around you, including yourself, into the swing!
